Pilot program commencement in Tanzania

Pilot program commencement in Tanzania

MPS is pleased to announce the start of a pilot program for their client in Tanzania. The pilot program is being undertaken at a previous tailings vat leach operation that was shut down after elevated copper caused poor gold recoveries and high cyanide consumption rendering it uneconomic. After some preliminary tests at our facility in Perth, the client decided to move directly to a pilot of the GlyCat™ process on-site using their existing infrastructure.

This photograph depicts the 16 vats that will be converted to the MPS’ patented GlyCat™ process.

Rueben Rajasingam – MPS Business Development and Process Manager has reported that the pilot trial commenced in September and is progressing well with minimal changes required to the existing facility. The pilot is on track to demonstrate much lower cyanide consumption and high gold recoveries and should move to the full 16 vat capacity once the pilot program objectives have been achieved.
